Diamond Polished Switches

These switches have had their legs and leaves polished smooth with diamond paste. The paste acts as an abrasive and helps grind-down imperfections at the microscopic level.

Numerous actuations have made these switches extremely consistent and has completely removed all unpleasant, scratchy sounds. 
Cherry MX Browns have been actuated less to help keep the tactility; too many actuations will remove the original feeling of the bump.

Diamond paste is so effective at making switches feel consistent and sound better that results can be noticed after only a few thousand actuations, whereas traditional, dry breaking-in may require more than one million actuations to even start removing scratch and improving sound. 

Overall, using a paste provides more consistent results than broken in switches. 

Additionally, to produce the smoothest switches, the housing and stem are kept together during the cleaning process. This is important because surfaces begin with different levels of microscopic imperfections. During the Actuation period, the stem leg and leaf will "flatten" at a uniform rate with one-another, becoming a mated surface. 

It takes around 5 minutes of manual labor to completely finish each switch.

The switch will be assembled and require opening. If you do not include the Switch Modding [Add-on], you will receive the stock springs in a separate zip-lock bag, removed from the switch. 

Please note that only the stem legs and leaf has been polished. This is because the "scratchy" feeling and sound occurs due to friction between the plastic stem and metal. The plastic surfaces on the MX2A housing is already very smooth and doesn't require polishing. Unnecessarily removing material from the housing can induce unwanted stem wobble and stability issues. 

The improvements from Diamond Polishing are subtle but noticeable when installed in a keyboard.
